FSD 14.3.8 drove 189 miles from point A to point B.
There was never an intervention while it was driving.
From Aguadilla to Hacienda Muñoz, in San Lorenzo, and back the same day. What I wanted to test was not the highway: it was the rural road, one lane each way with brush right up to the edge. All four times I took the wheel were to park or to pull out.

It drives better than it parks.
Across 189.5 miles of highway, downpour, and hacienda track, I never had to intervene once because of how it was driving. All four takeovers happened on site, with the car already stopped, to park it or to get it out of the spot.
The clearest improvement in this version is speed bumps and dips. Speed bumps no longer need as much help, and it crossed the road dip on its own outbound and again coming back. However, it still will not do the one at my house, so the problem is not necessarily dips: it is that spot.
The published score is 8.2. There were no safety flags. Taking the wheel and parking in an invalid space failed on both trips of this version, but they are capability flags: they cost points within their category without capping the score.
What it did well and what went wrong.
What it did on its own
- It crossed the same dip twice. The one on the hacienda road, outbound and again coming back, with no hard braking and no input from me. 3:16 5:48
- It yielded to the people crossing. Arriving at the hacienda, with people crossing in front of it. 4:07
- A loose dog and a head-on pickup. On a narrow bend, one lane each way. It handled both without an exaggerated maneuver. 6:35
- It stayed engaged through the downpour. It hit on the way out and it neither asked for the wheel nor disengaged. 1:25
- It handled traffic on its own. It braked behind the traffic and moved right to get past, with no input from me. 8:31
- The streak passed 250 miles. With confetti on the screen, halfway through. It ended the day at 353.7. 1:50
- 189.5 miles from 79% to 8% with no charging. And both estimates landed: outbound said 12:19 pm at 43% and arrived 12:23 at 44%; the return said 5:22 pm at 7% and arrived 5:19 at 8%. 9:07
What went wrong
- It parked badly and I moved it. It reached the hacienda on its own, but it could not leave the car where it belonged. 4:28
- The pothole it saw coming. It was clearly visible with plenty of warning, and it neither avoided it nor slowed. It was doing 29 mph, hit it at 31, and kept climbing to 34, with a 15 mph limit on screen. 7:19
- Getting the car out of a spot is still my job. I drove out of my house myself on purpose, and out of the hacienda too. 4:58
Four takeovers and the streak never broke.
The four times I took the wheel on September 6 did not reset the streak. The streak ran the whole trip: 165.0 miles before leaving, 353.7 that night, and the trip itself was 189.5 miles.
A real test is not a lab.
