hgYperDrivePR is a Puerto Rico-based Tesla and EV channel built around my Quicksilver Tesla Model Y.

The name comes from Hg, the chemical symbol for Mercury, also known as Quicksilver, combined with the Y from Model Y and Hyperdrive: speed, future tech, and the next era of driving.

Here, I share real-world Tesla content from Puerto Rico: Full Self-Driving tests, EV ownership, charging experiences, software updates, accessories, road trips, honest reviews, and everyday moments with my Model Y.

Why Puerto Rico

I live where most people vacation.

Most FSD reviewers parachute in for a clip. These are my daily commutes, errands, school runs and weekend drives — the same five stressors stack on every trip, and FSD has to handle them or it disengages. If it works here, it works anywhere.

Narrow streets

Colonial blocks in Old San Juan with parked cars on both sides and no shoulder.

Aggressive traffic

Hato Rey, Río Piedras and Caguas rush hour. Buses cut, scooters split, signals ignored.

Tropical weather

Sudden downpours, glare off wet asphalt, fogged-out cameras, flooded crossings.

Faded lane markings

Stretches of municipal roads where lane paint is gone. FSD has to infer the road.

Mountain & blind curves

PR-184 and Cordillera Central — narrow two-lane with no centerline, no guardrail.

FSD is Tesla's advanced driver-assistance software covering Autopilot, Navigate on Autopilot, Auto Lane Change, Autopark, Summon, and Full Self-Driving (Supervised). It's continuously updated via over-the-air software updates.

What is HW4 and why does it matter?

HW4 (Hardware 4) is Tesla's latest onboard computer generation, with a significantly more powerful AI chip than HW3. Faster processing of camera and sensor data, which is essential for continued FSD improvement.
