Después de una semana en el Tesla Service Center, y por motivos de viaje, pude instalar FSD v14.3.5 y probarla en el camino de vuelta a casa. El viaje fue bastante normal, pero salieron varias cosas que vale la pena anotar.

After a week at the Tesla Service Center, and because of some travel, I was able to install FSD v14.3.5 and test it on the drive back home. The trip was fairly normal, but a few things stood out worth writing down.

Con excepción de la velocidad de los perfiles, el comportamiento base se siente muy parecido a las versiones recientes. Pasé todo el camino cambiando de perfil solo para reducir la velocidad en zonas con policías y evitar una multa — el carro debería poder detectar el ruido de mi radar de policía y bajar solo. Ojalá.

Outside of profile speeds, base behavior feels very similar to recent versions. I spent the whole drive switching profiles just to slow down in areas with police to avoid a ticket — the car should be able to pick up my radar detector's alert and slow down on its own. A driver can dream.

Lo que sí me llamó la atención: en ocasiones no toma las decisiones correctas para pasar de carril, aun estando en Mad Max Mode. Varias veces, después de un cambio de carril, me quedé atrapado ahí hasta que el carro de la izquierda me dejara pasar.

What did catch my attention: at times it doesn't make the right call to pass a lane, even in Mad Max Mode. Several times, after a lane change, I got stuck there until the car on my left let me back in.

El vadén de salida de casa, obviamente, todavía no lo detecta. Y aunque no he tomado la salida hacia la izquierda de casa con esta versión, me siento bastante seguro de que no lo va a lograr — quedará confirmado en un próximo viaje.

The speed bump on the way out of the house, obviously, still isn't detected. And although I haven't taken the left turn out of the house with this version, I feel fairly confident it won't pull it off — that'll get confirmed on a future drive.

La mejor noticia fue con vehículos de emergencia. Dos veces venía una ambulancia de frente por el carril contrario y, aunque el carro la detectó e hizo el amago de cambiar de carril, corrigió casi al instante al identificar que estaba en otro carril y siguió su camino. A diferencia de otras versiones, donde se trataba de salir del medio del carril.

The best news was with emergency vehicles. Twice an ambulance came head-on in the opposite lane and, although the car detected it and made a move as if to change lanes, it corrected almost instantly once it recognized the vehicle was in a different lane and kept going. Unlike other versions, where it tried to get out of the middle of the lane.

El balance: 98% de autonomía en 84.0 millas. La v14.3.5 se siente prácticamente igual que la v14.3.4 en lo básico, con una mejora real leyendo ambulancias y un problema de indecisión en cambios de carril que vale la pena vigilar en el próximo viaje.

The bottom line: 98% autonomy across 84.0 miles. V14.3.5 feels practically the same as v14.3.4 on the basics, with a real improvement reading ambulances and a lane-change hesitation issue worth watching on the next drive.
