Starbase Unveils Police Cybertrucks, Bids for 10 More

📍 TeslaNorth

The city of Starbase, Texas, displayed black-and-white Cybertruck patrol vehicles as it builds its first municipal police department, led by Chief Glenn Bennett. In an October 29 post on the city's official X account, it said the units will be part of the fleet serving residents, workers, and visitors. The photo shows unit 001 with a roof light bar and Starbase Police markings. The city's procurement documents go further. RFP 26-03 seeks ten fully upfitted Cybertruck patrol vehicles, with options to buy up to 20 more and up to 10 fire department vehicles on the same platform.…

🔎 Why it matters: Starbase's RFP 26-03 seeks ten Cybertruck patrol vehicles with options for 20 more and 10 fire department vehicles. It follows Las Vegas Metro, which deployed 10 donated Cybertruck units in 2025.
📈 Upside: A UP.FIT analysis cited by TeslaNorth puts the cost of a Cybertruck patrol unit far below a gas interceptor over 100,000 miles, partly because it can run lights and radios from the battery while parked.
📉 Risk: The ten units depend on the award of RFP 26-03, and the twenty additional options are conditional on future purchases.
